• Introduction to the sport of high school style wrestling through league’s in San Francisco and surrounding Bay Area communities.
• Focus on participation, not match/tournament outcome.
• Provide even playing fields to the greatest extent possible with respect to age, weight, experience, and capabilities for the largest number of kids’ possible.
• To promote the community interest in support of their community teams.
• To teach fundamental wrestling skills.
• To provide guidelines for continued wrestling development.
• To cater to the beginning and advancing wrestlers.
• Promote and develop good sportsmanship.
• To have area youth teams eliminate/stop the promotion of weight cutting among youth wrestlers.
• To create more fans, adult volunteers and participants for the local middle school and high school programs.
• To encourage high school wrestlers to become kid referees and to provide them opportunities to develop/practice their refereeing skills.
• To develop a safe and healthy environment at all practices, scrimmages and member tournaments. To enact/modify rules that enhances safety of participants. (I.E. By minimizing/eliminates the effect of moves that promote choking, head/neck and shoulder injuries, etc)
League Meets
League scrimmages are typically held one day a week (TBD), usually in a tri-meet (3-team) fashion to introduce new wrestlers to live competition, as well as to provide competitive matches for experienced wrestlers.
Match Pairing for Scrimmages
To promote a safe, objective, unbiased matchmaking standard across the league. All individual matches are paired based on age, weight, and experience level. League rules for weight is +/- 10 % maximum, and a maximum of 1 year difference in age. Experience levels are broken into skill levels (cooperatively defined by teams in the League) and are assigned to each individual wrestler by each team's designated official/squad leader.

Administrators Agreement

now known as the SL (Squad Leader) and referred to as and Mat
Sports now known as the LD (League Director) agree
to operate under the following terms.
Each Squad in the League has individual rights that our
not within the scope of this agreement and may exercise
them , the Club agrees to operate and follow the
direction of the League on all issues included within
the scope of this Agreement.
The LD will set the Master Schedule in which all
Inter-Squad Competitions, now known as ISC, are set.
Including but not limited to Group Practices, Camps,
Clinics, League Duals and
Tournaments.
Each Squad shall be responsible for scheduling their own
practices.
The LD will be responsible for administration of all
aspects of ISC’s .
Including but not limited to Referees and their
certifications, Authorizing and
Sanctioning the ISC Events, setting rules for the
Events, Admission and
Entry fees, and their distributions. Securing Venues and
Supplies needed at each
Events.
The LD shall be responsible to verify that each Squad is
in compliance with the following:
SL and their Coaches, Volunteers or other Persons having
any direct or in direct contact with any minors in the
program will submit to a background check. Any
violation of this term will void this agreement,
no person may work in any capacity without prior
approval of the LD.
Schools authorizing
participation - may not sign a waiver accepting responsibility
and will not be allowed to host or participate in ISC’s
under this agreement.
Any and all amendments to this agreement:
This agreement can be amended by the following:
The League Director and the Squad Leader mutual consent.
Or by a vote of the following ( this option is limited
to issues concerning the ISC)
The League Director and a majority of the Squad Leaders
consent- Limited to only the Squad Leader participating
ISC.

Term of Agreement Shall be until either party opts out, by
giving 90 Days Notice, in writing:
Notice will be given by sending it the following:
Coach@matsport.org for the LD and ______________________ for the SL
Notice via email is acceptable to both parties. It is
the Responsibility of the parties to update their E Mail
Address. An Email to any Sponsors can be sent by the
moving party, provide it contain no information intended
to recruit them or encourage cancellation of the Squad
Leaders.
Should the Squad opt out they will be obligated to
perform any and all commitments under the conditions
agreed upon :
Example: Squad A agrees to host a ISC at its home Venue on
January 12th 120 days prior to the event
Squad A gives notice and opts out, LD still retains the
right to host the event in the Venue. Squad A may not
with out the expressed written consent of the LD partner
with any other group or host the event. After the
January 12th event Squad A may sever any and
all ties with the LD.
Should the LD opt out he shall give any and all records
concerning or collected for the Squad to the SL.
All parties agree that Squads that are formed under this
agreement have a value and therefore are an asset that
will remain with the Squad Leader. No attempt to induce
any Sponsor or Participants (either Coaching Staff or
Wrestlers) to abandon the Squad if Notice is given. LD
agrees not to initiate contact with these groups. Squad
Leader agrees that Sponsors and Participants have an
absolute right to join, participate in other Squads. In
forming their own Squads Coaches will be directed to
observe the terms of this agreement in both principle
and sprit. Sponsors wishing to enter into a
Administration Agreement with the LD may without
limitations to Sponsor or LD provided they conform to
the following:
Contact initiated by Sponsor. (If notice to opt out is
given by the LD Sponsor will be noticed)
No reduction in fee structure is offer to the Sponsor to
induce them.
Nothing not offered every other Squad is offered to
induce them.
No review of performance evaluation is offer to the
Sponsor after the notice is given by either party.
SL is advised that of the Agreement and a 10 day waiting
period is provided where all parties to the new
agreement can cancel.
All parties agree that Clinics, Camps, Tournaments have a
value and that any Trade Names used in the Venue will
belong to and be the sole property of the League Director.
No SL will attempt to use the Trade Name or run a
competing event with in the same

Parameters Defined as the following example:
The Mission Bay Classic is held annually at Everest Middle
School on the 3rd Saturday of April. Mission
Bay Squad gives notice. Timely notice is given, but the
above provision would prevent the Mission Bay Squad from
using the Trade name and would require them to choose
another weekend, unless the LD allowed or released the
date and name. Otherwise the Mission Bay Squad would
have to choose another date and rename their event.
